Pulp and Flesh

Pulp and Flesh

Pulp and Flesh, a four-course banquet, is a performative installation featuring public participation that transforms the act of eating into an erotic and collective ritual. It involves a practice of ritual mummification where the performer serves herself as a living table. There, the bond between the performer and the diner becomes a game of consensual cannibalism.
The piece is structured in four phases: 1The Offering: The Ritual Submission. The artist undergoes a process of total mummification on the table, transforming herself into an inert figure. 2 The Dinner: Flesh as the Main Course. The performer’s wrapped body becomes the vessel upon which the meal is served. Diners are invited to feed directly from this «plate,» establishing a direct and tactile relationship with the artistic object. 3, The Opening: Deciphering the Veil. Participants are invited to intervene in the artist’s liberation, using hands or scissors to break the cocoon, symbolizing the deprogramming of the gaze and the eruption of desire. 4 Pulp and Flesh: Ecstasy and Vulnerability. The artist, now nude, uses her own body—hands, feet, arms, and face—to feed the diners with fruit. This act intensifies contact and culminates in a material and organic outpouring, where the body crushes the fruit (sploshing) in a gesture of libidinal revolt and total exposure.
The work proposes a collective and dissident reinscription of pleasure, mobilizing enjoyment, fragility, and disgust as tools for poetic resistance.
