In 2026 the festival used ticketing with passes and individual session tickets for the first time. The 400 figure is the previous result, not a target. Counting attendance per session in Barcelona plus every international venue, the verified total in-person footfall is 1,190+.

Global sponsor trailer — before every session
Projected in every session, across every venue

This trailer included brand spots and was projected before each screening session in every festival location, giving sponsors repeated visibility across Barcelona and all partner venues.

Sponsor Visibility — Inusual Project (Opening and Closing Days)
Full sponsor wall, on-screen and on-site

The «SPONSORS BDSM FILM FEST 2026» slide listing all 9 sponsor logos was projected on the main screen and individually announced from the stage. Each brand received either a live shout-out when no representative was present, or an invitation on-stage when the brand was present — not just a shared logo strip. Sponsor visibility also appeared in the exhibition area, on the official photocall backdrop where attendees took photos throughout the event, and through scripted presentation moments designed to create product placement opportunities.

Delivery conclusion

Against the 2025 baseline, the 2026 result grew between 1.8x and 9.2x depending on the metric. This makes delivery one of the strongest arguments in the sponsor report: the festival did not just continue, it scaled significantly.

Why October 2027
Date shift — October 8-10, 2027

Moving from May to October enables three things: collaborating with European industry fairs and events that run between April and June without overlapping (a win-win setup), better alignment with public funding institutional timelines, and more competitive travel prices for international attendees in the post-summer season, while Barcelona still enjoys good weather.

Funding strategy
Institutional plus sponsors, not institutional instead of sponsors

The festival is actively working to enter the institutional cultural circuit while keeping its essence and editorial freedom. But institutional funding, even if secured, covers at most 50% of the budget — and requires costly bureaucratic adaptation and professionalisation. The estimated challenge budget fits within the subsidisable amounts available for our category, but private sponsorship remains essential, not an optional complement.

Reading the price range

The widest range sits in Awards Night on-stage activities (€500–2,000) — it reflects how much prominence (a mention vs. dedicated activity) affects perceived value. Wristband branding is the most expensive add-on per unit (€1,250 for a single spot) because every attendee wears it visibly throughout the festival, giving the sponsor guaranteed exposure with no chance of being overlooked.

Product agreements — separated from @masterdevolar
Product collaborations are handled separately

For this edition, product agreements connected to @masterdevolar are separated from the festival sponsor packs. If product is added to a sponsor agreement, the sponsor is responsible for shipping costs and any customs fees.
